What is different about Durgapur & Asansol

Sized to the shifts

Industrial plants are sized to the normal-hours block of the time-of-day bill. Surplus can move down to off-peak, never up to the 5–11 pm peak, so we do not oversize.

Four possible suppliers

WBSEDCL, DPL, IPCL or DVC: the regulation is the same WBERC one, but the application, the meter and the inspection go through your own supplier.

Dust and heat

Industrial dust and very hot summers cut output if they are ignored. We plan walkways and cleaning points, leave air gaps under the modules and keep inverters out of the sun.

CEIG and fitness

Plants of 100 kW and above need the Chief Electrical Inspector’s approval before switch-on, and fitness certificates are renewed every 2 to 3 years. We handle both.

Questions

Asked in Durgapur & Asansol

Who is my electricity supplier in Durgapur or Asansol?

It depends on the area. Most are on WBSEDCL; parts of Durgapur are on DPL, parts of the Asansol–Raniganj belt on IPCL, and some industrial units on DVC. Your bill says which. Net metering follows the WBERC 2025 regulations under all of them.

How big a solar plant should a factory in Durgapur install?

Big enough to cover the units in the normal-hours block of your bill, and no bigger than your contract demand or 500 kW for net metering. Surplus can be set off against off-peak units, never peak. Read how to size a factory plant.

Does industrial dust reduce solar output?

Yes, noticeably if panels are left dirty. We design walkways and cleaning points into the layout and put a cleaning schedule in the maintenance plan.
